Stunning Glow-in-the-Dark Tattoos that are Genially Awesome

A glow-in-the-dark tattoo adds an exciting twist to traditional tattoos. Most people assume that this tattoo style creates a constantly glowing design, but in reality, most glow-in-the-dark tattoos only glow under a blacklight. If regular ink does not meet your needs, or if you do not want your tattoo to be visible, you should consider glow-in-the-dark tattoos. These tattoos are also known as blacklight tattoos and are taking over the internet just as much as the offline world, resulting in a lot of work for tattoo artists.

Tattoos that glow in the dark are made with fluorescent colors that are difficult to see during daylight hours. The tattoos don’t quite live up to their names, though: They won’t glow when the lights are turned off. In contrast, glow-in-the-dark tattoos are generally triggered by a blacklight due to the UVA light that it emits. The neon trend made this form of tattooing famous in the 1990s, and it is relatively new compared to other tattoo styles. In the beginning, artists used an ink solution containing phosphorus and traditional pigments. However, this method was considered dangerous as it contained phosphorus, a carcinogen that caused several skin disorders. Because of the harmful nature of the chemical, artists tend to avoid using ink having it. To replace the chemically dangerous pigments, glow-in-the-dark tattoos are now created with ink that reacts to UV light. According to Dr. Nazarian, glow-in-the-dark tattoos are now considered just as safe as regular tattoos since tattoo artists no longer use phosphorescent ink.

It’s possible to get glow-in-the-dark tattoos that last just as long as regular tattoos if you choose artists that use UV-reactive pigments. These tattoos will fade over time but never completely disappear. When you decide to cover up your glow-in-the-dark tattoo, it is essential to remember that the colored ink you apply on top will appear duller than expected. The glow-in-the-dark properties of the original tattoo will no longer be functional. Due to the brighter pigments, you may see more of a need for touch-ups than with a standard black or deeper color design. UV-reactive inks can even fade into different colors; for example, blue ink can fade into yellow or brown. Aside from the color issue, glow-in-the-dark tattoos are permanent and heal the same as any other tattoo. Many tattoo artists and experts claim that there are no risks related to tattoo ink allergies. Generally, tattoo ink reactive to UV light is the same ink used for traditional tattoos. Please do some research on your own on your allergy and tolerance history, or ask your tattoo artist about the allergens in the ink they use.

Here are some stunning examples of Uv-tattoos that are genuinely awesome.
